Let's goooooo!

In this companion blog, I'll try to articulate why I built this website ... and probably take some technical tangents because I'm a web developer and I can't help it.
I started working on The Wild Wild Web a month ago because I was bored of Reddit and I am tired of the general enshittification of the web. I cannot stand Google search results, social media propaganda and AI-powered SaaS anymore.
I needed a distraction so I decided to "surf the web" like I did in the 90s. I stumbled upon /~/pubnixes and it brought me joy to know that some people are still sharing a server for fun! I realized that the web that I love so much still exists. I just needed to be curious again, and to start exploring it again.
There are millions of amazing sites on the web that deserve our attention. They are created by real humans that only wants to share their passions, ideas and knowledge. They are not trying to sell you something. I prefer to give my attention to them than doomscroll a social site that is clearly engineered to make me addict to it.
In a nutshell, The Wild Wild Web is my attempt to bring back "web surfing". The site is purposely built so that you DON'T spend too much time here. I want you to discover cool topics and start exploring them all over the web. When you come back from your journey, I hope you will share your findings with us! ;)
